Our algorithm compares your Spotify data: 60% weight on shared genres and 40% on shared artists. The more overlap in your music taste, the higher your compatibility score. Scores range from 0-100% with labels like "Soul Mates" (90%+), "Festival Twins" (75%+), and "Good Vibes" (60%+).

Toggle Solo Mode on your profile to signal that you're going to a festival alone and are open to joining squads or meeting people. Solo users get prioritized in Vibe Match and Squad Finder results.

A personality quiz that determines your festival vibe based on energy level, schedule, group size, interests, and more. You'll get a unique Vibe Label that helps the squad matching engine find compatible crew members.

Squads are festival crews matched by our Vibe Match engine or created manually. You can invite friends, accept squad invites, and coordinate together in the Crew Hub. Each squad is tied to a specific festival.

The Crew Hub is your squad's home base. It includes group chat, a shared packing/planning checklist, and a meetup planner for coordinating where and when to meet at the festival.

Yes! You can join different squads for different festivals, or even multiple squads for the same festival if you want to connect with different groups.

Each festival page shows dates, location, lineup, who's going, a community feed for posts and discussions, and our 7-category review system. You can also find squads, see who's live tonight, and get packing recommendations.

Rate festivals with an overall score plus 7 specific categories (music, vibes, production, food, facilities, value, safety). You can leave one review per festival per year. Other users can mark reviews as helpful.

A live status broadcasting feature. Set your status (e.g., which stage you're at) and see who else from your matches and squads is live at the festival right now. Statuses auto-expire so they're always current.

Yes. We use Supabase with Row Level Security (RLS), OAuth authentication, and encrypted connections. Your Spotify data is only used for matching — we read your top artists and genres, nothing else. We never share data with third parties.

Be respectful, be real, and be safe. No spam, fake profiles, harassment, or inappropriate content. Festival culture is about PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect) — we hold our community to that standard.

FestivalMates is a web app at festivalmates.com that works on all devices. Native iOS and Android apps are on our roadmap. Add the site to your home screen for an app-like experience.

During onboarding (Step 5) or from your profile settings. We only read your top artists and top genres — we don't access your playlists, listening history, or make any changes to your account.

Go to your Profile page and tap "Edit Profile" to re-visit the onboarding wizard. You can update your name, bio, avatar, music taste, festivals attending, vibe quiz, and more at any time.

On the login page, use the "Reset Password" option to receive a reset email. If you signed up with Google or Spotify, you don't have a FestivalMates password — just use the Google or Spotify login button.
